Having trouble selling houses due to creativity dilemmas? Then you’ve come to the right place because in this article we are going to talk about architecture and interior design, color staging, bedroom paint design and best interior paint colors for selling a house.
When it comes to color staging and architecture and interior design in real estate, many stagers and real estate agents instantly jump to blaming the color or lighting as to why the room does not work. You should instead ask yourself this question: Does the color relate to what’s happening in the room?
We all prefer to blame the color and lighting though because it is easier to change them but it’s important to remember that they alone can’t do everything. Nonetheless, we are going to show you pictures of rooms before and after they have been photoshopped to look more vibrant and soothing to the eyes to show you how much of a difference color staging makes.
Here, the wall color is definitely not going with anything else in the room and the yellow color of the tub just makes things look bad. The brownish plumbing combined with the white tiles and white cabinets is also not helping things.
Painting the walls a paler taupe color here will make all the difference as you can see in the following picture.
The yellow of the bathtub is a lot less evident now because the old darker purple taupe was enhancing it before.
Let’s see what happens when we interchange the color of the wall and cabinets, using a darker indigo blue instead of the bleak one above.
From the above modification,
you can clearly see the problem was of the colors not relating. The darker blue of the cabinets takes your attention off of the mismatched floor and countertops, making the kitchen ready for presentation.
Most of you might be thinking the problem here is the floor. We’re not saying you’re wrong, but let’s just keep changing the flooring as a last resort as it is an expensive option. There is a more approachable problem in this room though, and that is the overuse of black.
The overload of black appliances with those brown cabinets just makes it look very orange. Painting the cabinets and walls a lighter and fresher color is the best fix for this black hole.
Perhaps the best option for such bathrooms would be to just paint the walls white, giving the new homeowner a blank canvas to color what they feel is right. The white color also gives a modernist look to the bathroom.
Color staging in a black and white bathroom is risky business but can be pulled off. Pictured below is a black white bathroom with a clean turquoise colored wall, which really complements the tiles.
Mastering the art of
color staging is not an easy task but is a crucial ability and asset when it
comes to best interior paint colors for selling a house. There are online color
theory courses available nowadays though. Many of these online color theory
courses are free, but we would recommend digging into your pocket and going for
the paid ones if you really want to learn the art of color staging properly.
