Valentine’s Hype: 10 Cities to Visit this Valentine’s Day When You are A Solo Traveler!

As 14th February is just a few hours away, no one can wait to see the beautiful yet bloody red color all around everywhere. The whole world will soon be shower up with red roses and cupid arrows. Soon, everyone will be having a love life, good if it stays forever. It all will be a little messy and irritating when you have no partner to celebrate Valentine’s day. But it is fine when your radio plays your favorite Enrique’s track and you, on the other hand, indulge in it leaving all the love-birds behind.

If you are alone, lone, and lonely on this day but don’t want to feel like this way. Don’t worry, here in this article, there is a perfect escape for you. Enlisted in this are the 10 must-visit cities when you are a solo traveler. Cheer up and make your day laughingly, you never know who is waiting for you on the other side. *wink-wink*

1.Vilnius:

If you are a foody person then this is surely your city. The city is full of cobblestone streets. Have an affordable night experience just like Prague and Krakow.

But as these two cities are very high on Valentine’s day so it won’t be good to visit them. Other than that. Vilnius is there for you.

This capital of Lithuanian always remains open for UK travelers (don’t worry they won’t let you out if you are not a UK inhabitant.) It has many recreational sites to visit and enjoy the historic Gate of Dawn, some oldy-goldy town, Užupis which is nearby Vilnius known as the town of artists, bars, and boutique shops.

2.Antwerp:

As the West Flanders city and Bruges are all occupied with the love-birds, Belgium can look a little love-love all the way in Valentine’s day.

But when you are a solo traveler, pay a visit to Antwerp. Unlike Belgium’s other cities, this city won’t distract you with its love-life. The city is full of refreshing bars and restaurants waiting to be explored. In May 2018, there will be a relaunch of DIVA diamond museum, so due to this, the city is gaining extra buzz. Enjoy a bike ride towards Plantin Moretus and Rubens House museums. Make yourself a little more sweetie at The Chocolate Line.

3.Budapest:

Budapest, another unique and beautiful city. It is often called as the “Paris of the East.” This Hungarian capital though gets occupied with love-birds but there is some place for solo travelers too. The city is known for its wild stag parties and nightlife.

The city offers a great zeal of enjoyments and a number of must-visit places entirely different from that present in the UK. The city is known for its biggest ruin bars.

As Budapest is an architectural city, there are some great museums with their antique infrastructure and appearance for e.g. the Museum of Terror. Enjoy the stunning views from Buda Castle, and the thermal baths.

4.Trieste:

As Venice is the city of love so reject it to visit on Valentine’s day. Unlike Venice, Trieste is a way better to visit this day. On the other side of Adriatic, there is Trieste city with a minimum of three-hour train ride. Have some Byronic kind of romance in the city. The city is located on the coast. Must visit the main square Piazza Unità d’Italia which is known to be the Largest waterfront in entire Europe.

The city is yet to be compressed by some romantic couples, but that doesn’t mean that you underestimate the beauty of Trieste when you are alone. This place is the main harbor of Austro-Hungarian empire, so it’s a good home for solo travelers.

Enjoy your lonely being by walking through the streets of the city and near the sea. Don’t forget to visit the bookshops there and castle of Miramare. Stay at the Viennese-style coffee houses.

5.Madrid:

The Catalonian capital of Barcelona is Europe’s third city which is always full of tourists including the day of 14th February.

Madrid, too, has some visitors and travelers but it is quite calmer than Barcelona. The city parks are Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid, Parque del Buen Retiro, and Jardines de Sabatini. You can wander through the city in an afternoon as it offers great things to enjoy. There is also a full package for art lovers through art galleries like Museo del Prado, Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, and Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza.

6.Bristol:

The most enjoyable thing on Valentine’s day is bath and it is popular since Roman times with spa.

The solo travelers shouldn’t feel gloomy rather head towards Bristol. It is the friendliest city with a number of bars, beer shops, and food streets to enjoy. Wander through the streets of Bristol and make new friends as you are too lonely. *wink*

7.Gothenburg:

Gothenburg often left unnoticed because of Stockholm, but this Sweden’s city has something worth noticing and worth observing. This includes Majorna, vintage style districts, retro shops, coffee shops. The music venues in the city also have organized some music shows of Sweden’s best rock bands which is indeed a perfect escape from the outside romantic air.

Gothenburg has a friendly and supportable environment and it is included in the list of the most advanced city on the earth.

8.Chicago:

In the US, it is impossible to completely take no notice of the lovebirds on Valentine’s day as a maximum number of people head towards the Big Apple or Las Vegas on 14th February to enjoy the event. But Chicago, on the other hand, is a lot different than Las Vegas.

Chicago, the windy city, is famous for deep-dish pizza, blues music, cultural heritage as the Art Institute of Chicago is included in the list of largest museums in the country. Also, a lonely walk through the Lake Michigan in these good-bye days of winter will be memorable.

9.Galway:

As the capital of Ireland, Dublin receives the maximum of couples during Valentine’s day just like Venice, so it won’t be a perfect hangout place for lonely pals.

If you love to visit Ireland, try Galway this time, the urban part of Ireland. This cute little city may seem small but it withholds thousands of recreational sites to make you entertained.

Its prominent sites are historic Spanish Arch and Galway City Museum. These two are also known as its cultural heritage sites. Enjoy the booming nightlife of the city and food...of course, there is plenty of food areas in the city.

10.Montserrat:

If you want to have a Caribbean experience, try Montserrat this time. To run from the tacky Valentine’s day, end up at this Caribbean island known for its bright sunshine, golden sand, and cocktails.

Of course, you want the place to be surrounded by fewer people as you are a solitary chum, Montserrat is a place for you. Even to this date, it is trying to rise from its ashes as it had encountered a volcano eruption in 1995 dragging two-third of its population to death. But still, it has some breathtaking pristine beaches to bless you with the best.

This island celebrates St Patrick’s Day along with Ireland as its official national holiday. In case you fail to visit it on Valentine’s day, set the date for 17th March.

Don’t worry, you will find your love soon, just this Valentine’s day is not for you. As love comes uninvited and unnoticed.
